Schola

Scholae is a Latin word, literally meaning “schools” (from the singular schola, school or group) that was used in the late Roman Empire to signify a unit of Imperial Guards. The unit survived in the Byzantine Empire until the 12th century.

The Virtuele Straat wants to grow strong and lasting aswell. It is our aim to create an open site of artistic, technological and social meaning. A site that is fed and enjoyed locally as well as globally. Just like the physical Bijlmer area, a place to wonder about, be amazed by and meet new people and peoples from around the world. With the Virtuall Street we hope to add to a web-hungry exhibition climate and share the artistic treasures of the Bijlmer district with you.

The schola-page is the spot for you to share your views and merits by showcasing your work and ideas and giving and getting feed-back as we go along. This page will take shape while we roll. Each one teach one!
